Edinburgh, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, August 2009.

This child's smile appeared inmediately, natural and warm, for the camera. I asked him to pose because my attention was deeply attracted by the vivid colours of his dress, a whole culture coded in the rich and colourful embroidery, frills and pompoms. It occurred to me that he was there to make us think of unknown places - to induce in us the wish to visit such places.
India, perhaps?
Anyway, it was him who inspired me to start what would end up in my one and only photo series - Parainfernalia. A mosaic of Edinburgh' streets on that day of August.

Parainfernalia (aka The Edinburgh Series now, for the sake of this here blog) was the title of my first and (so far!) only exhibition. Where? Shambala Café, Granada. When? Possibly circa Spring 2010. Time sure does fly.
