[Paseo de los Tristes]
Granada, 29 August 2013.
This black cat is possibly one of my best models ever to date. You see, no awkward, rushed stolen shots here. It posed with the elegance inherent to its species, languid and nonchalant, a bright look minding its own business, with dark, glossy hair. It was a somewhat chilly August night and there it was, nice and easy, passing the time there on the parapet of the bridge. Once I immortalised it, the cat just turned round and left. No ceremonies.
A classy dude.
As I lay there with my eyes closed, I thought about the soft touch of the pads beneath the cat's paws, the cold triangular ears, the pink tongue. (...)Haruki Murakami, The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle.
